Using Virtual Reality for sport sciences

Virtual Reality is a powerful tool for studying sport sciences, and can be use for instance in the case of a dual between a thrower and a goalkeeper in Handball. The aim of this sutdy is to determine which informations are used by the goalkeeper to realise his stop.

The experience consists in a 3D environnement with a virtual thrower, perceived by the goalkeeper with stereoscopic glasses. His movements are recorded with a Vicon Motion Capture System, and his glance is tracked with a Eye Tracking System.

This project was developped with the biomechanics laboratory of Rennes II University : the LBPEM.
